Skipco is a programmatic SEO UK lead-gen site in the skip hire niche, helping people to find cheap, reliable skips to hire.
There are 20k keywords with a volume of over 1M for ‘skip hire’, but the online booking experience is broken, and the competition is low (many local skip companies with 0 DR ranking for head terms).
Skipco was intended to revolutionise the industry (think what trainline.com did for trains) through following search and digital marketing best practice.
The idea would be to complete bookings on site, then forward orders (less Skipcos fee) to local skip companies to fulfil. That said I never made it that far: v1 was the website (scaled landing page for popular destinations [~1k or so] and a handful of blog posts.
v2 would be building the payment feature. However, unfortunately, due to competing priorities I’m now looking to sell.
Why should you consider this space? 20k keywords, 1M volume, low competition, high order values. Why Skipco? Strong, branded domain name, early traction in search (180 clicks and 77k impressions in first 4 months, growing), search optimised content, quality tech stack.
The site runs on Strapi (https://strapi.io/) and is easy to operate as a non-technical person as the majority of the build (less payment processing) is done. The domain name itself was bought from Dan.com for ~£495, and spent £700 on development and content.
